The Biomedical Genomics Core is a nationally recognized “Certified Service Provider” of expertise in multiple aspects of genomics research providing consultation and assistance with experimental design, quality control of starting material (DNA or RNA), sample labeling, hybridization, image acquisition, data processing, statistical analysis and interpretation. The core performs expression profiling of both mRNAs and microRNAs, gene regulation analysis (ChIP-on-Chip) and DNA methylation analysis, whole genome analysis, comparative genomic hybridization (array CGH) and assists investigators with multiple aspects of next-generation sequencing, from library preparation to advanced bioinformatics analysis and interpretation of results.
We are a Core Facility of the Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As part of the Center for Microbial Pathogenesis, we are also conducting cutting edge research in the field of Biomedical Genomics.Ā The BGC is an Agilent Certified Service provider - the first academic core lab to achieve this in the United States.
